Brow lift (forehead lift)
A droopy brow gives the patient a tired appearance. The age group coming to our office for brow lifts usually is between 40 to 70 years old. The procedure helps bring the brow to its normal position and improve the forehead crease lines. At the same time a lot of the extra skin in the upper eyelids is gone. Other facial surgeryies like a facelift can be performed at the same time. Brow lifts can be performed in two ways. One involves using small incisions in the scalp and a camera , to release the muscles in the forehead that pull the brown down.  The second is the more traditional way of making the incision behind the hairline or along the hairline and removing the extra skin after releasing the muscles. The decision as to which procedure to use will be made during the consultation.

Although most patients receive the endoscopic brow lift (small incisions in the scalp), sometimes - especially if the forehead is very long - an open brow lift is necessary as shown in this diagram. The incision is usually at the hairline.
The muscles pulling the brow down are released in the same way as with the endoscopic brow lift and the extra skin is removed before suturing the wound.
With the brow in its normal position, the end result most of the times is a subtle "rested" look with some improvement in the upper eyelid extra skin.

Procedure Raises the brow to a normal position.
